This two day Basic Wire Skills Class will provide you with a good foundation for making wire jewelry. The following topics will be covered:

-	Tools, equipment, care, and safety
-	Wire types and functions
-	Resources for tools, wire, and beads
-	Wire: hardening, straightening, and antiquing
-	How to make jump rings, eye pins, spirals, coils, figure eights, and clasps. How to make basic wire bangles.

During the class you can expect to make a bracelet, a bangle, and a pair of earrings.

What to bring to class:

* Long round nose pliers
* Flat nose pliers
* Chain nose pliers
* Flush or semi-flush cutters that will cut up to 14 gauge wire
* Steel bench block
   Steel bench block pad
   Ball peen hammer
* Plastic mallet
* Needle files
   Bead reamer (nice, but not necessary)
   6 inch ruler
   Sharpie/indelible pen
   Gray mat or hand towel
   Note book to take notes
   Copy of Seller's permit if you want to avoid paying tax on beads
   and wire.

Please note:
If you wish to borrow one or more of the above starred items, please let me know prior to your scheduled class. I want you to feel you can take a class without making a significant investment. You are also welcome to purchase these items in class or online before class.

Beads
Please bring a variety of beads that have holes large enough to accommodate 16 gauge wire and 14 gauge wire. I will also have beads to purchase if you are interested.

Silver Wire
   2 feet 14 gauge dead soft round sterling silver wire
   4 foot 16 gauge dead soft round sterling silver wire
   3 feet 18 gauge dead soft round sterling silver wire
   1 foot 20 gauge half-hard sterling silver round wire
   4 feet 20 gauge dead soft sterling silver round wire
   3 feet 22 twisted sterling silver wire
